  • Manages the timing and sequence of operations based on selected settings
  • Interprets signals from the user interface and internal sensors
  • Directs power to components via onboard electronics
  • Monitors system status and may store/output diagnostic error codes
  • Common failure symptoms: won't start, unresponsive or blank display, stuck/erratic cycles, or recurring error codes after a power reset
What's included: 1 electronic control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing; verify no voltage is present
  • Use ESD protection and handle the PCB by edges only
  • Photograph/label connectors and move them one at a time to the new board to prevent miswiring
  • Inspect wiring, fuses, and related components for shorts or damage and correct any root cause before powering the new board; follow the unit's tech sheet for any required post-install setup

For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18876303)

Ed for Model Number MDB7749AWQ2

The vent and soap dispenser doors do not open. I have been just throwing a pod in and using the normal cycle. Cleans OK, but the soap door should not open right away, and the interior stays wet because of the vent not working. I had replaced the soap dispenser (the old one had a burned up solenoid). The control panel was replaced under a recall recently. With the dispenser and control panel having been replaced, could the control panel be the cause of these symptoms?

Ed, the vent WPW10164259 solenoid can be tested for resistance (with power to the dishwasher off) and it should measure between 600 to 1800 ohms of resistance. The dispenser can be tested for voltage during a normal cycle wash. At 9 minutes 15 seconds into the cycle, the main control W11202746 should send 120VAC to the dispenser solenoid. If 120VAC does not reach the dispenser, then the wires would need to be tested for continuity and inspected for loose connections. If the wires check good then the issue would be in the main control.

Billy, The first thing that you will want to check is at the control board to ensure that there is 120 vac getting to the board. If there is then you will want to check the ribbon connector from the touchpad to the control board for signs of corrosion and if there is then clean the contacts and reseat. If this checks ok then the control board would likely be the cause for this issue.

Hello Sean. It sounds like the water is not circulating properly in the unit. You will need to make sure your filters are clean and the water is filling up to the proper level in the unit. If not, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit.
