Jerry for Model Number 10658149801 I noticed last week that my ice maker was not making ice. I went on your site and looked up possible reasons. Ice maker power control seems to be working correctly. I was not sure if it was the inlet valve so I ordered one from your site. It arrived the next day and I replaced it this morning 4/23. Ice maker is still not working. Will it work right away or does it need to cycle a few times to get water to the ice maker. The water dispenser works fine.
Answer Jerry, if the freezer is reaching proper temperature, the ice maker would need to be checked for 120VAC when the optics sensors have a clear line of sight between each other. If there is 120VAC, the fill tube above the ice maker would need to be checked to identify if it is blocked up. If it is, it would need to be cleared. If it is not, the ice maker would need 24 hours to verify if it makes ice. If not, then the ice maker WPW10190961 would be the likely cause of failure. Read More...
