Ken for Model Number GI5SVAXVL01 Hi, so my display was blank, but interior lights were still on with no cooling. Fans weren't blowing either. After some research it appeared to be the high voltage control board. Ordered and replaced. Lights came on and needed programmed. Code on inside of fridge is 1617. Set code and fans kicked on. Now I get water and it appears to be running. However, it isn't actually cooling. I can't hear the compressor kick on. I hear a click from time to time, but ultimately no cooling. Any ideas? Thanks!
Answer Ken, that click you hear is the clue you want to follow. I'm figuring that the click is coming from the compressor area in the back of the fridge. If you track it down to there that means either your compressor failed or the overload relay has failed. Ohm out you compressor windings, any shorts or opens, replace the compressor part number W10160407. If it is okay replace the start device WPW10197428 and the capacitor WPW10662129. In my experiences, it is the start device at least 80% of the time. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 30, 2020
