Larry F. for Model Number Jen-Aire Model JED8430BDB Is the glass part number AP4362724? My wife broke the glass, how hard is it to change? Would I be better off buying a new cooktop or just replacing the glass? Can I do it with standard tools or is it a hard job? Thanks for your reply, Larry.
Answer Hello Larry! Yes, the cooktop is part number 7920P202-60. You may also need the vinyl tape WP71003485. Here is the manufacturer information on the main top removal, this should help you determine if you would like to repair the product. Hope this helps! Main Top Removal 1. Disconnect power to cooktop. 2 Remove cooktop from installation position and place face down on protected surface. 3. Remove screws securing main top to burner box bottom. 4. Remove screws securing control panel box and conduit mounting plate to burner box assembly. 5. Remove main top. 6. Reverse procedure to reassemble, verifying that cooktop frame is properly aligned. NOTE: Make sure the pieces of insulation, located in the front left and right rear corners, are put back in place. Failure to do so could create excessive cabinet temperatures. Read More...
