Carl for Model Number WRS322FDAM02 There was no water at all via the door or the ice maker. The filer door was broken so getting the filter in and out was not working either. I bought a new filter housing and that fixed the water supply to the door but still no ice. After the install of the new filter housing I and filter I ran a few gallons of water through the door and noticed some almost black water coming out for a bit. That cleared up but when we push the lever on the door to get water it sounds like an old steam engine chugging along. The ice tray is not filling with water but I checked the functions of the motor and it will cycle the ice tray and it sounds like it tries to open a valve to fill but no water goes into the tray. Could the chugging sound of the water and no ice be related to the valve?
Answer Carl, it would be recommended that the fill tube to the ice maker is inspected for any ice blocking it up. If there is, it would need to be cleared. Another check recommended would be identifying the water pressure going to the supply valve. The water pressure recommended would be between 60 to 80 PSI, however, the tolerance is 40 to 100 PSI. Higher than 80 or lower than 60 PSI can influence the operation of a water valve. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, August 4, 2021
