By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18981909
Manufacturer Part Number: W11196317

The Gasket is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This gasket seals the gap between the dishwasher door and the main tub, preventing water from leaking out during the wash cycle. It ensures a watertight seal that helps maintain the efficiency and performance of the dishwasher.

Over time, the gasket can deteriorate due to regular use, exposure to heat, and contact with detergents. A faulty gasket can lead to water leaks, which may cause damage to surrounding cabinetry and flooring.

Symptoms of a bad dishwasher gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the bottom or sides of the dishwasher door
  • Visible cracks or tears in the gasket
  • The dishwasher door not closing properly
  • Increased noise levels during operation

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Dr Benson for Model Number KUDG25SHBL1

On the bottom corner the gasket has rotted. The seal otherwise is in good condition. On the other corner the gasket is a continuous extension of the seal that goes all the way around. The bottom corner piece is not attached to the machine, but is loose. I think it has always been that way. There is no gasket that goes across the bottom except at the corners. What is the part number I need to make the repair? I assume it is a job for a pro but I would like to have the part here and ready to install when I call for service.

Answer

Dr. The parts you should need are : W11196317 and the lower door seal 4172127. You would also want to check and make sure the door hinges, and hinge pins on the frame of the dishwasher are not damaged or distorted. Here are some basic instructions, should you decide to attempt the repair yourself. : First, remove power to the dishwasher. 1. Remove the access and toe panels from underneath the dishwasher door by removing the two (4) screws securing it to the dishwasher frame. Remove the eight (8) screws securing the outer door panel to the dishwasher door frame. Remove the outer door panel from the door frame. Thanks and Good Luck
