Manufacturer Part Number: W11196317

The Gasket is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This gasket seals the gap between the dishwasher door and the main tub, preventing water from leaking out during the wash cycle. It ensures a watertight seal that helps maintain the efficiency and performance of the dishwasher.

Over time, the gasket can deteriorate due to regular use, exposure to heat, and contact with detergents. A faulty gasket can lead to water leaks, which may cause damage to surrounding cabinetry and flooring.

Symptoms of a bad dishwasher gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the bottom or sides of the dishwasher door
  • Visible cracks or tears in the gasket
  • The dishwasher door not closing properly
  • Increased noise levels during operation

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hi Gina. Door Gasket Kit - Door seal repair kit comes with black rubber seal, adhesive and instructions Part Number: W11196317. 1. Remove existing tub seal from channel and wipe seal channel dry.2. IMPORTANT: Check that door does not rub on buttons, located on either side of the door. If the buttons rub the door, adjust front leveling legs to center the door. The buttons should NOT rub on the door when closing. IF BUTTONS RUB AFTER MAKING ADJUSTMENTS IN THE FRONT, CHECK THAT REAR WHEELS ARE LEVEL.INSTALLING NEW SEAL: 1. Beginning in top center, apply 1/8" diameter bead adhesive along the top and left side. Again from top center, apply adhesive along top and right side.2. Insert new seal, starting at bottom right. With the retaining flipper and the white line facing the outside of the tub. See Figure 4. Install bottoms and corners of seal in each of the four points as shown. At points 1 and 4, the gasket should just touch the bottom of the tub; it should not be “wrapped” under the door. See Figure 3. After seal is lightly installed, go back along entire surface of seal and push seal securely into place. Seal must rest tightly against tank.NOTE: White stripe on seal should be pointed toward outside of tub.3. Wipe any excess adhesive. Close door and reinstall dishwasher. Adhesive will require 24 hours of curing time to fully set up. KEEP UNIT DOOR CLOSED DURING THIS TIME. Note, the white stripe should be the outer "pointed" area of the door seal. This face's out towards the door, with a slight lean towards the inside of the tub. (not pointing outward to the left or right). Thank You.
