Roberto for Model Number GX5SHDXVQ01 My refrigerator is only 13 month old. The back wall of the freezer is building up ice and the upper part of the refrigerator stop cooling. I removed the back wall and found complete ice buildup. I thought the fan that routs the cool air up from the freezer was defective but is not so. After doing a bit of research, it can be one of the next components: the defrost thermostat part # AP4009169, defrost heater PART # AP4078434 or the ADC(control unit)part# AP4366538. Please advice.
Answer Hello Roberto. You will need to test the heater WP67004188 and the thermostat 12002355. They should read closed for continuity when cold. If they are good, you will need to replace the ADC WPW10503278. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
