Timothy K for Model Number Maytag A810

When I start the wash cycle water is leaking out of the the plastic piece in the center of the injector hose kit. in the area of the injector & Injector valve Water then leeks down and out the left front bottom. Should I replace The Injector Hose Kit (Part Number: AP4023882) or just the injector and valve, And what is the best way to get access to the Injector Hose Kit. Does the top open if so how or is the front the best way to get to it to replace (does the front panel just pop of or is there a special way and screws?)Thank You in advance this is my Mothers washer and she is 84 an on a limited income so I would like to repair, I'm an ASE Automotive Tech. Sincerely Tim Kachik

Answer

Timothy, Repalcing the injector valve and nozzle, WP213015 and WP216201 will be sufficient. Just remember to clean out any deposits that may have built up on the inside of the housing. Yes, you will need to raise the top of the washer to access the injector assembly. Unplug the power cord and slide the washer out a few inches. Remove the two phillips head screws(one on each side) approximately 3 inches up from the bottom of the front panel, grasp the bottom sides and pull out towards you, until the panel clips disengage the top panel and set the panel aside. In the top front corners of the cabinet interior, there will be two 3/8 in. hex head screws(facing up) one on each side, remove the two screws and raise the top of the washer. You only need to disconnect the hose closest to you(front) and perform the replacement of the two parts. Thanks and Good Luck
