Christina for Model Number ghw9150pw1 im getting the f6 error, and my washer wont spin.. how do i tell if the drive motor is bad? how do i check the drive motor to see if it is bad?
Answer Christina, The motor on these particular units are pretty dependable, and do not have too many issues. But you will need a multi meter, to test the windings and the tach circuit , Disconnect the wire harness from the motor, there will be five(5) terminals , you will need to check resistance from pin 1 to pin 2, pin 2 to pin 3 and pin 1 to pin 3, You should have a resistance reading of 3 to 6 ohms, and all three readings, should be the same. You should read a resistance of 115 to 125 ohms resistance from pin 4 to pin 5 (tach circ.) If all the readings are in range, the motor is OK and you will most likely need the MCU W10756692 but check for any loose wires and connections from the motor to the MCU, and from the MCU to the CCU in the upper protion of the cabinet, first.
