Manufacturer Part Number: W11452196

The Motor-Evap is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It circulates cool air within the refrigerator compartment to maintain even temperatures throughout. The evaporator motor works in conjunction with the cooling system, drawing in warm air and distributing cold air via its high-efficiency fan blades.

Causes of a bad evaporator motor can include normal wear over many operating hours, damages from dust or debris buildup, and failures in the motor winding or power control mechanisms.

Symptoms of a bad evaporator motor include:

  • Inability to properly cool food items
  • Warm spots developing within the refrigerator
  • Unusual noise or vibrations from the cooling system area
  • Issues maintaining set temperatures even when cycling

This genuine OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Answer

Kelly, unfortunately, we do not have a video specific to the freezer evaporator fan W11452196. However, if the freezer is reaching the set temperature, the evaporator fan would be a less likely cause for the ice maker to not produce ice. The ice maker fan W10846539 would need to be inspected by opening the left refrigerator door and holding the door switch in while identifying if the fan circulates air. If it does, and a thermometer shows the temperature being less than 10°F in the ice bin when the door is shut for several minutes, there could potentially be a failure with the ice maker W11577195
