Randy for Model Number ed5vhexvb01 Ice maker not dropping ice after frozen only does it every now and then. When it does release the ice will fill up with water to start the next cycle. Is heater that thaws ice so arm can remove ice not working properly?

What you described to me is either the ice maker thermostat not sensing the ice bin frozen part # WP627985, or the ice maker heater not getting full power from the head assy. switches part # 8201515. It also (food for thought) may be better off to replace the whole ice maker assy. part # WPW10190965. You need to consider it is calcium deposits that over time build up in the ice cups and then the ice acts harder to eject after the heat release also. Thank You. Read More...
