The Oven Bake and Broil Igniter is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. It is designed to ignite the gas in both the bake and broil burners, ensuring efficient and safe operation of the oven. This dual-function igniter provides reliable ignition for a consistent baking and broiling experience.

You should replace the oven bake and broil igniter if it becomes faulty. Causes of a bad igniter can include electrical failures, wear and tear from repeated use, or damage from thermal stress. These issues can prevent the igniter from reaching the necessary temperature to ignite the gas.

Symptoms of a bad oven bake and broil igniter include:

  • The oven not heating up
  • The broiler not working
  • A delayed ignition or no ignition at all
  • The oven taking longer than usual to reach the desired temperature

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Answer

Hi. Use this method on diagnosing the bake and broil circuits. Is the Clock control lit up? If not make sure you have 120 vac to the clock. If so then do you hear a faint relay click (on the control board) when you command bake or broil? If not then replace the ERC part # WB27K10139. If so then check for 120vac at the Safety valve part # WB19K14. If you have the voltage then replace the safety valve. If not then measure resistance of the glow bar part # WB2X9154. If the glow bar has 50-150 ohms resistance then check the electrical supply to the range. If not then replace the glow bar. Remove the safety valve wires and measure the terminals for 1 ohm resistance. If open or more then 1 ohm then replace the valve. Thank You.
