Symptoms of a bad relay and overload include:

  • Refrigerator failing to consistently cool or maintain temperature
  • Buzzing or humming noises coming from cooling areas
  • Tripped circuit breakers

Causes can include defective relay contacts, a burned-out overload, or worn-out electrical components internal to either part.

Mo for Model Number JCB2059GES

The compressor relay in this Jenn-air refrigerator went bad. I ordered a new part, but it has two separate connectors on the front while the original one has the two connectors right next to each other. Hence the cable can fit since it has one plastic termination. It seems that I need to remove the plastic termination and put new ones on each of the two wires(blue and white). So my questions: 1. which wire goes where? 2. what type of termination do I need to buy and how to attach to the wires? Regards

Answer

Mo, The terminals that would go with the part would be 1/4" spade terminals. The Blue wire would go to the terminal marked L and the white would go to terminal marked N. If this is not the route that you would want to go then you could get part number 8201786 which will have the original style relay in it.
