Sharon for Model Number MDBH979AWS1 Hi, We bought this dishwasher about a year and a half ago. At first, the light cycle button stopped working, then the normal cycle button stopped working, then the start button stopped working. My husband changed the circuit board which did not fix the problem. He doesnt want to buy another part that doesnt fix the problem which cant be returned. Any ideas? Thanks!
Answer Hello Sharon, First off, any parts you bought from us can be returned for refund for any reason within one year from the date of order. You just have to call in for return authorization first. This sounds like a bad connection of the ribbon cable. The door panel should be removed and check for signs of moisture in the control board area. If there are any signs of moisture in this area, the air vent gasket WP8269259, the front seal WP8269258, or the vent WPW10164259 will need to be replaced. Either way the ribbon cable should be cleaned with a dry pencil eraser. Rub the ribbon cable only toward the end and never rub it sideways to avoid damaging the ribbon cable. If the previous instructions don't produce satisfactory results, the control panel W10811155 will require replacement. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, January 7, 2013
