Ashley Maytag Epic z model # MHWZ600TW01. The washing machine stopped during washing cycle, and smelled of something burning. I think it is the pulley, wanted to make sure that is the problem.
Answer Hi. Look at where the top of the main pulley against the top half of the outer tub area. Has the pulley worn a groove into the outer tub creating the smell? If so then this means that the outer tub part # 280255 bearing and the inner tub spider part # 8540342 shaft is worn out. Remove the top back screws. Slide the top back, up and off. Being able to smell the control panel, ccu main board part # WPW10525358 or the motor control board part # WPW10163007 has a lot to do with a diagnosis. Look at the EMI filter part# 8540342 where the cord connects just inside the unit to see if the connectors are tight. Thank you. Read More...
