Jack for Model Number LAT8640BAW Washer works fine until the spin cycle. A light burning rubber smell is detected. I purchased and replaced both the drive & pump belts. The tub can be turned by hand and does not appear to have any obstructions. The motor spins. It appears the belt may not be getting enough traction possibly. Both springs are in place on the motor. Please advise. Thanks!
Answer Hello Jack, This sounds like the spin bearing 6-2095720, 6-2040130, may be seizing. If the problem increases the more you run the unit and it produces a loud roaring sound, this will be the issue. If not, you should check the drain pump WP6-2022030 for the possibility of the pump belt making the burning odor should debris be inside the pump. Read More...
