Dan for Model Number Maytag/Lat8705aae recently used washer in a Permanent press cycle, stopped agitating and spinning. will fill to correct water levels and shut down. no movement in dial whatsover. When manually turned to Heavy, med , light to agitate, nothing happens. Nothing happens in spin cycle either Lidswitch actuator making one click. Took out agitator, set on its back to inspect pullys. (2112425) pump pully seems ok but little worn, drive belt very loose,(the drive belt is a little biggerthan the pump belt) tried to adjust pump pully, then drive pully by pulling the motor, drive pully still too loose to spin drive. Is this possibly the only issue? I think im losing power after the fill cycle? Dan
Answer Hello Dan. It sounds like the lid switch is abd and will need to be replaced on the unit. Test the lid switch and see if it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
