Part Number: OEM18055260
Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10276397

The Drain Pump is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This component is essential for removing water from the washer during the drain cycle. It ensures that water is efficiently pumped out of the washing machine, preventing water from remaining in the tub after a wash cycle, which is crucial for the appliance's proper operation and the cleanliness of your laundry.

You should replace the drain pump if it becomes faulty or stops working. Common causes of a bad drain pump include blockages from debris or lint, wear and tear over time, or electrical malfunctions. These issues can prevent the pump from effectively draining water.

Symptoms of a bad drain pump include:

  • Water not draining from the washing machine
  • Unusual noises during the drain cycle, such as humming or grinding
  • The washer stopping mid-cycle with water still in the tub
  • Error codes related to draining issues on the washer's display

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Wade for Model Number WTW4800XQ2

Washer was not draining completly, seemed to not spin fast enough and making a slipping noise. I replaced the drain pump, installed a new actuator and splutch kit. Calibrated the washer, ran the diagnostic mode just fine with no issues but when washing a load of clothes the washer will not completly drain. The drain hose is about 40" high, clear and not kinked, washer is level and It initially drains 75% with no issues but before completly emptying the tub about 25% remaining it sounds like the drain pump is sucking air and the drain hose is moving in a jerking motion. Thank you

Answer

Wade, Have you conducted the the automatic and/or manual test modes And allowed the control or manually operated all the components and made sure the washer does spin ? You may want to. You may have to remove the spin basket and check for small articles or coins under the basket or between the tubs blocking the tub outlet to the drain pump or keeping the tub from spinning properly.
