Verduzco for Model Number WTW8800YC1 I replaced bearings and shaft using part W10435302 and W10447783 . I am convinced it was done correctly but when reassembling, I noticed that the rotor had worn a couple of magnetic plates, probably because the stator is scrapping against it; When spinning there is a knocking sound. My question is: What is the best sequence to deal with the rotor hitting the stator? Do not want to buy unnecessary parts. Should I start with the suspension rods ? or replace the stator / rotor ? or rotor position sensor. No error codes in automatic test and washer is balanced against floor. Thank you Washer Whirlpool Model number WTW8800YC1 (2 ½ years old !!!)
Answer Verduzco, You will want to make sure that the tub shaft is straight. If it is then the rotor would definitely need to be replaced and check the stator to make sure that there is no damage to it and replace if necessary. Read More...
