Michael for Model Number MTW6600TQ0 I was replacing the bearings and tub seal on my Maytag Bravos washer and saw that the stator was cracked in several places, so I planned to replace it. But I also noticed that the magnets on the stator were worn down somewhat from where it must have been scraping against the motor rotor/housing (the wear was fairly even all the way around the stator). You noted in another posting that if this were to happen it could cause “serious damage” to the machine. If that’s the case, is it still worth replacing the stator or am I better off just buying a new washer? Before I replaced the bearings and tub seal the machine frequently threw “out of balance” error codes, so I’m not sure if the stator problem caused some other kind of damage. The fluid in the inner tub is still intact so that’s not an issue, and the outer tub assembly isn’t cracked. But I’m just not sure what other kind of damage the cracked stator may have caused.
Answer Michael, the cracked stator and rotor will need to be replaced if you intend on keeping the washer. The out of balance condition can be caused by weak suspension rods, {AP5985113] Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, March 15, 2019
