A. for Model Number 66517514202 Water is leaking out of door onto kitchen floor. There is no problem with the strike (unit turns on and off with door closing and opening), but appears the bottom seal has eroded. Is there a part to replace just the bottom seal of this kenmore dishwasher, or does the entire gasket and strike need to be purchased? Thank you.
Answer A, There is no seal on the bottom of the door, there are other things that need to be checked. Make sure the dishwasher is level in both directions. Check the water level in the tub, start the dishwasher and let it fill and run for 5 minutes, open the door and check to see that the water in the bottom of the tub is within 1/4 inch of the heater element. Then check the lower spray arm for debris in the openings or a split seam along the edges, also check the spray arm hub and seal for excess wear or distortion. Any of the scenarios can cause water to be redirected and will "blow out" the bottom of the door and create a leak. If you do need to replace the door seal, then you will need to order the gasket and strike kit W10542314 it has been reconfigured to produce a tighter fit and seal around the tub opening.
