Dan for Model Number wed6400sw1 i have 1 broken coil and 2 fused together dryer still gets hot but takes forever to dry clothes. Keeps getting AF code but had it cleaned out and there is no blockage also changed the thermister. Would a bad heating element cause this and the AF code?
Answer Hello Dan, The broken and fused coil would cause the unit to not dry properly and would cause the AF error code. The unit is sensing temperature based on the setting. If the coil is fused togther and not heating properly this will reduce the heat relation to the board which will feel like the duct is blocked because it is taking longer than normal to dry.
