Bill G. for Model Number ACD2238HTS This is an Amana side by side with Ice and Water in the freezer door. After replacing the filter the water dispenser in the door works fine. There is no water going into the ice maker and no ice being made. When you select crushed ice the maker grinds away but nothing in the hopper to grind. I plan to purchase the dual water valve that is accessible at the rear of the appliance. Are there any other options I should consider? Bill
Answer Hello Bill, The failure of the ice maker was just a coincidence. The water for the ice maker is not routed through the filter. Check the fill tube. If it has clear ice in it you will need to clear it with a hair dryer and replace the water inlet valve (AP4080862). If there is no ice in the fill tube, you should remove the plastic cover off of the front of the ice maker and make sure there are two tabs in the center of the big geared wheel. If there are, they should not be touching one another. If one tab is missing or the tabs are touching, replace the ice (AP4135008). Read More...
