Jim for Model Number MDG2500BWW I have MDG2500BWW gas dryer that is heating erratically. Ignitor cycles and glows, but often flame will not start. When this happens, there is a smell of natural gas out the vent. Have replaced ignitor and valve coils (all read proper resistances). In checking cables to coils, two prong coil cycles between 0.4V when ignitor glows, to 120V when ignitor turns off. So the coil should be energized when ignitor goes off. For three prong coil, read same voltage center ground to one outside prong, and read 118V to 120V to the other outside prong. Starting to suspect gas valve (utility work recently done on our street), maybe weak flow or valves not fully opening. Any way to check/clean? suggestions? Thanks.
Answer Hello Jim, This is either going to be the ignitor 4391996 breaking down or a coil 279834 almost out of tolerance. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, July 21, 2014
