P.B. for Model Number GS6NBEXRB01 I just replaced the motor control module as the ice maker stopped working and the ejector did not turn at all. I'm still not getting water in the ice maker. Water does come out the water dispenser. I checked the water lines and all appear to be clear and not frozen. The infra red light works according to the test you provided. Should I now consider replacing the inlet valve? Is there a way to test it?
Answer Hello, You can force a cycle by shorting the 120Vac from terminals "T" and "H" together. The door switch may need to be closed and the flap for the optics needs to be pressed in where the optics are not blocked. After about 2 minutes, the ice maker should energize the water valve for about 7 seconds. If you attach your test meter leads to the water valve connection for this you can see the voltage reading if the valve is energized. You can also user the shortcut if you want. This being: remove the electrical connectors from the dual water valve and put the one for the water dispense on the ice maker water valve. Now if you dispense water and the valve is working, the ice maker will fill until you let go of the dispense paddle. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, June 20, 2012
