Tyler for Model Number Kenmore ice make model 106.89482996 Ice machine makes ice good and like it should. But when adding more water to the water tank it runs over for sometime and into the ice bin before it turns it’s self off. Does the valve measure how much water goes in? Can’t seem to find a float or switch to tell the water when it is full.
Answer Tyler, the water valve is operated using a pre-set time in the control WP2304016 programming. The control should supply 120VAC to the valve for only 1 minute. If the water valve is getting 120VAC for longer than 1 minute, the control has failed. If there is water coming through after a minute and there is not voltage, the valve W10801996 has failed.
