Karen P for Model Number 4318046 When installing the water valve kit for the ice maker, the new replacement part has different colors on the wiring plugs from the coil. Does it matter which ones go with each colors. For example, the are two reds but they are not on the same side as the old plugs.
Answer Karen, Are you sure you have the correct part, you did not supply a model number of your fridge to varify. But the solenoid terminals are slightly different in size. the "Green" solenoid, is for the icemaker assembly and will have the smaller wire terminals, and the water supply tube to the ice maker will attach to the threaded fitting under the green solenoid. The "Orange" solenoid, is for the water dispenser and will use the wires with the larger termianals, and the water ube from the water dispenser tank will attach to the threaded fitting under the orange solenoid. If you have more or less than four(4) wires, we have an issue with the water valve you are trying to install. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
