The Whirlpool refrigerator dual solenoid icemaker water inlet valve is an OEM replacement part responsible for controlling the water flow to the refrigerator's icemaker. It is typically located at the back of the refrigerator, near the bottom, where the water supply line connects to the refrigerator. The water valve receives signals from the refrigerator's control board to open and close, allowing water to flow into the icemaker.

The Whirlpool water inlet valve can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms:

  • Failure to make ice or limited ice production
  • Loud or unusual noises coming from the water valve

Hello Mark, I'm sorry but when a part has been discontinued without any satisfactory substitutions listed, we have no way of knowing if another part that is not recommended by the manufacturer will work or even fit on the appliance. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello Wayne. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
