How to Troubleshoot & Replace Electrolux AP7938461 / 809069220 Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor

Quickly identified required parts using APP website.Easily ordered by phone. Parts (defrost fan motot & control board) arrived next day.. Replaced parts. Unit function returned to normal. Temp stable in freezer & frigd sections. Good to go. 

Researched on line what was wrong with my fridge. Saw that I could fix it myself for less than half the cost of a repairman.

Replaced evaporator fan - still not running. Confirmed original eval fan was dead and new fan was working via bench test. Replaced main board and everything was good. 

After searching the internet for solutions. Most sites indicated it was the evaporator fan or the control board. I decided to try to replace the fan first. I watched a video on this site on how to replace it. It took about 10-15 minutes tops and it was very easy. After replacing it, I plugged the fridge back in and it started to cool. 

First thing I did was determined that the evaporator fan motor was the problem. I thought it would be the temp sensor or the fan motor so I checked both with my meter the sensor tested good so then I checked the fan motor and it showed bad. 

New Evaporator Fan Motor. Works great, better than ever. Even the things in frig door seem colder... 

I watched your video and it was very simple to install. I would tell any one that this is the best way to go so you do not have to pay no less than $115.00 a hour to have a service to come to your house just to tell what is wrong and then have to pay for him to fix it as well . Bought an evaporator fan and evaporator motor as suggested by others with same problem. Parts arrived within 1-1/2 days. Watched the video and in less than an hour everything worked perfect! In a few hours the temps in the fridge we’re back to normal. Thanks so much for all the help!
