How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP8053015 / 242009604 Water Filter Base (Housing)

Replaced the water filter base. 

Ordered a new filter base and received within 24hrs. Removed old unit and replaced with a new one in less than 15min. It works perfectly now. Very satisfied with the service and product. 

The part that I ordered was the perfect replacement. Only issue is that there were no instructions included with the part. I had to do research to find a video on Youtube. After watching the video, everything went well. I now have filtered water again.

A new filter base fixed it. The part arrived in two days. It was not a hard install. You’ll need a Phillips Head screw driver, a small wrench, and a quarter inch but driver. Make sure you turn off the power or you’ll get wet. I’m not very handy at all, so if I can fix it anyone can fix it! 

The spring-loaded clip that grabs the filter was worn/broken. Replacing the filter base was low cost and very simple. Needed a screwdriver and small pliers and that's it. Part was taken out and replaced in abut 10 minutes. New water filter snapped right in with little effort. Has been holding fine since. Looking forward to the next fix!

I order a replacement filter cartridge from a competitor of Applicancepartspros.com for my Frigidaire. It came in, matching numbers, ready to put in. I pulled it out of the box, popped my filter out & tried to install it... it wouldn’t fit.. I pushed one more time, then noticed the clip on the replacement was different. MATCHING FILTER PART #!! I tried to install my old filter and realized the base was broken... so, as I should have done from the beginning, I looked up my part here and ordered a new filter base and filter through AppliancePartsPros and it was here next day, installed perfectly and back up and running! Easy installation, just as it says. Don’t try to save a buck, order here!!! I’ve ordered thousands of $ in parts from here for my business and should have known I’d be taken care of!
