How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5590131 / 318255006 Heating Element

Cut power, removed the old element, replaced with new element and restored power. 

I purchased the new heating element. 

Ordered part and replaced on my own. Only 4 screws total. Easy. 

I replaced the element in the bottom of the oven and it works perfectly. It was very easy to do, just unscrew two screws, unplug the two electrical connections (turn off your breaker first), and then plugged in the electrical connections on the new one, pushed it back into the oven wall, then attached the two screws back where they were. 

Replaced the element, Super easy. Just turn off the power first 

Element glowing white and sparking in one spot. Replaced element working now. 

Replaced oven element. Simple repair,2 screws holding bracket with 2 wire connections 

Ordered and installed OEM coil. Will-fit products are available in the aftermarket for significantly less up-front cost, but the OE coil lasted 18 years and I wanted that reliability in the replacement. AppliancePartsPros.com had a video on the replacement procedure which figured heavily in my decision to buy from them. Finding and ordering the right part, packaging, tracking, delivery time...everything about this transaction was exceptional. The next time I need an appliance part, I'll be back. 

Replaced the baking element myself. 

Pretty straight forward... 1) Move oven away from wall 2) Unplug oven 3) Remove 2 screws from back of the oven (heating element) 4) Disconnect the wires 5) Remove old element 5a) Examine old element & noticed there was a small crack in the back/bottom (that I could not see on initial examination) 6) Do the above steps in reverse order
