Bill W Russellville , TN October 18, 2021 The dishwasher was leaking water while it was running. I traced where the water was coming from and it was a broken heating element nut. I ordered the replacement nut and turned off the power to the dishwasher. I took the wire lead off the element connection and replaced the nut. I had ordered 2 of the nuts so could replace both of them while I was at it. After the replacement of both I tested the dishwasher. Worked great. Read More... My leak was caused by the deterioration of the brass flange above the gasket / washer that holds that gasket against the tub basin. The fix was very easy. 1-unplug the unit 2- remove the bottom flashing to access the under side of the unit. 3- unplug the two poles of the heating element. 4-with a 1/2" wrench, remove heating element nuts. 5- remove bottom wash rack and wash arm 6- remove heating element. 7- reverse all steps to install new heater element and element nuts. I bought an adapter from the hardware store to connect a garden hose to the dishwasher.. As I cycled the dishwasher, the leak was at the heating element. I bought the heating element nut. Installed in under a minute. Then I reinstalled the dishwasher. I have installed multiple dishwashers in the past. Phillips screwdriver - Four screws - 2 to remove the kick plate, 2 to remove the screws to the counter. Adjustable wrench to remove water supply. Socket set to remove the discharge hose.
