How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3884821 / 134418700 Agitator Hub

Replaced transmission. If you have a laundry center like me, you don't have alot of space. Replacing the parts want difficult. Just limited space made it harder. Also couldn't find a removal video for one of these but using a video for a frigidaire stand alone washer ouput me in the ball park and figured it out from there. Appliance parts pros had the best process too! 

I own several apartments with same washer/dryer combo. A couple months ago, one of my washers stopped agitating. I hired an Appliance Repair Company. They charged my $95 for agitator, $65 for hub and $120 for service call, plus tax for a total of $310. Oh, and it took them FOUR WEEKS to get the part in and fix my washer!. Something to do with "Frigidaire shipping issues". Last week I had another unit break with same problem. I ordered the parts for my 20 year old washing machine. They arrived in a rural area in 2 days. Very impressive. My husband fixed the agitator hub and put the new agitator on and now I don't have to buy a new one. Yeah. They provide a specific video to the repair which we did watch and I could have done the repair except for the elbow grease that was needed to pry off the old hub. On my older washer, this piece, the hub locks into the plastic agitator, transferring the back and forth motion from the shaft to the agitator. My old Hub broke and the agitator was free spinning. By removing the old agitator and cleanin out the parts of the old broken hub, I was able to reuse it with this new hub from appliancepartspro! Cheap fix. The appliance guys in my area didn't even want to look at it. They just said "probably the transmission, buy a new machine". Saved a lot of money by NOT listening to them! I'm not usually patient enough to do these repairs myself, but this was super easy. Now that I understand how it works, I could fix one in 10 minutes! 

Well, I needed the nut that went inside the agitator. It was worn down but I ended up buying both pieces. The shipping was amazing! It shipped the same day I ordered and the parts arrived in about a day. 

I put a new hub. 

After ordering the agitator I found it didn't come with the hub. The old one looked as though they were together. Very easy to replace, one bolt nut assembly comes out together. Pulled the agitator out, put the hub inside the agitator then both back in together, tighten the nut bolt assembly.
