Bubba August 07, 2023 for Model Number FEX831CS0 Agitator doesn't agitate. Motor spins just fine, new timer, new capacitor, but motor doesn't even hum for the agitator cycle, let alone run. What am I missing?
Jeff January 29, 2018 for Model Number Frigidaire fws445rbs0u Hi, About three months ago, I replaced the agitator hub on my washer after the agitator wouldn't spin. I found that the hub's inside top shoulder had worn away and the agitator hub had shattered. After a few months, the new hub also shattered and the shoulder was worn away. Before I replace it again, is this a sign of a problem with the transmission? Or something simple like overloading the tub? Thanks!
1 Answer Jeff, No this would not indicate a problem with the transmission and in most cases this would most likely be caused by overloading of the unit. Read More...
Joe December 13, 2015 for Model Number GLET1041AS2 The washer works well except the tub spins while the washer is agitating. Is there a part to replace to fix this issue?
1 Answer Hello Joe, The tub spinning during agitation is a brake failure. The brake is part of the transmission assembly 134736400. Read More...

Bob December 19, 2013 for Model Number FWSB67RGSZ The Frigidaire Crown Series Top Load Washing Machine does not agitate the clothes. I have reviewed a number of videos and have seen that many of the other machines have "agitator dogs" which can wear out. The "agitator dogs" allow the agitator to turn, but then stop from turning all the way around so that the clothes are pulled into the center towards the agitator. This machine does not appear to have "agitator dogs", rather it only has a hub on the top of the transmission. I have removed the agitator and looked at the hub and it does not appear to be stripped, either does the inside of the plastic agitator. However, the agitator turns or spins freely all the way around in both directions. Because of this, the clothes are not pulled into the agitator. I am trying to determine if that is just the way this machine works, or if there is something amiss? Please advise.
1 Answer Hello Bob, This unit has a "dual action" agitator which means the agitator should turn in one direction but will not turn the other. If it turns freely in both directions, it will adversely affect the wash result since the clothes will not be properly moved around in the wash tub. This agitator design shows no replaceable parts so the entire agitator assembly 131605901 will require replacement. Read More...
Micheal September 29, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire GLWS1649AS1 I'm trying to figure out why this clothes washer doesn't agitate, the clothes just smoothly turn in a circular motion with no agitating. Doesnt have the shake type force. On another unit I owned it had clogs that made the agitator agitate. What is the purpose of the hub? I think it might be the problem. Again thanks for your time and help Micheal
1 Answer Hi. Lift the top. Remove the outer tub top cover. Remove the agitator all together. Remove the 5- bolts and remove the inner tub. You will see the Trunnion part # 131545101 where the inner tub bolted on to it. You will notice that there is a 1"w x 3"L flat bar that 2 bolts at the top of the trunnion. They all work together to hold the trunnion to the only flt spot on the side of the transmission. One bolt is broke. It is part # 137539500, you will need 2- of them. The flat bar is part # 137107000 and you need to use loktite part # F8283401 to lightly use on the new bolt threads. This is a normal fault as your issue you described. Thank You. Read More...
Micheal September 28, 2012 for Model Number GLWS1649AS1 My tub and agitator spin in only one direction than after a few minutes or so starts to make a grinding sound. Needless to say clothes arent getting clean. thank you
1 Answer Hello Micheal. Check and make sure the plate 137107000 under the agitator is not broke or the bolts holding on the plate. If not, it sounds like the transmission 134737100 may be bad if the noise is coming from there and nothing moves. Read More...
Danielle May 10, 2012 for Model Number fex831fs2 How do you remove the hub on the washer machine to replace the part?
1 Answer Hello Danielle. After the bolt is removed from the top of the transmission, you need to use a cold chissel and cut/knock the old hub off the unit. Then, you will tap the new hub 134418700 onto the shaft of the transmission. Be careful not to damage the shaft when working on the unit. Read More...
Brian April 11, 2012 for Model Number glws1339es0 On this washer, it works good, but when the tub spins there is a roaring sound and also a metal rubbing against metal sound. What could be the cause? My guess is the bearing below the tub. Am I right ?
1 Answer Hello Brian. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the seal 5303279394 and the bearing 3204405 are bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ryan November 07, 2011 for Model Number 41794812301 Is the inside of this hub part #AP3884821 tapered on two sides? It looks like this hub on my washer has worn the inner tapered molding off.Maybe I am wrong and it is just a wedge fit onto the transmission shaft? The third picture on the right does lok like I can see two tapered sides. My agitator is acting up but everything else looks god except for this.Alot of crud feel out when I popped it off which my be the inner mold that could have been destroyed.Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Ryan. Yes, the hub 134418700 is tapered. If it is worn or broke, it will cause the agitator not to work properly. You will need to look and see if the hub is bad, or the inside of the agitator. Replace the part that is bad. Hope this helps. Read More...
