How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5645246 / 134711401 Outlet Thermal Fuse

My husband fixed the dryer after taking apart the front and drum of the dryer apart. We could not find the part anywhere. After ordering the part from amazon, and being told it wouldn't arrive until another week, we ordered from appliance parts pros. It arrived within 2 days and my husband had the dryer working very quickly. 

Removed rear cover and exhaust pipe. unplugged and removed thermal limiter, location was right on the parts list. installed new limiter and vacuumed out exhaust vent which was clogged with lint. easy fix with the correct info provided on you website. thanks 

Replace thermos limiter on exhaust tube. 

I did a continuity test on the outlet there fuse ( there was no continuity) then ran a continuity on the control thermistor( no continuity) when I received the new parts the new control thermistor also had no continuity. Installed both fuses and dryer started. On a dryer always run a continuity test an u will almost find your problem 

Dryer would do nothing. No light on display. Limiter switch was bad and contol board was burned out. I replaced both and cleaned out lint fron all ducts and it works just fine now. 

Replaced control board and changed the sensors while I was in there. Fixed! 

The AppliancePartsPros.com video suggested the Thermo Limit Fuse might need to be replaced. The video was spot-on and helpful in showing how to do so. My repair was even easier because the back panel of the dryer was removable rather than having to take the front off and the drum out. The replacement Thermo Limit Fuse worked and the dryer is running great. 

Through research found that the problem could be the inlet or outlet fuse. I figured while I had the dryer torn apart, I might as well change out both. Watching the video was key because I have no experience with this type of repair. The repair went great and the dryer is working again. Also gave me the chance to clean things out there. 

From a Youtube video giving instructions, I started with removing the back of the dryer after unplugging from power. I removed the heating element and heating sensor. Pretty easy to fix once the back is off. Spent most of the time removing the back and putting it back on. 

I researched online on the most common problems when the dryer runs normal, but no heat. I followed the video step by step. I took the dryer completely apart, removed old parts and replaced them with the new ones. Completely cleaned and used compressed air to blow out the lint. Took about an hour, dryer working great now.
