How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5998652 / 316233903 Probe

Replaced with new temperature probe. 

Oven kept throwing error code and shutting down, and found it was likely the probe. So ordered one off the "big river" place, that had the right connector but was three inches too long. Second try had the wrong connector, was right length, but the crimp on the end going into the oven was too broad and it wouldn't fit through the hole in the oven wall. I then came to AppliancePartsPros.com. Their part fit perfectly, but wrong connector. Not a lot of wire to work with either. Spliced on the connector from attempt no 1, and all is good now. 

Check with OHM meter no reading ordered on Monday received Tuesday stove up and running Wednesday. Simple install less than 10 minutes. 

Replaced the temperature sensor probe. 

Followed your how to video. 

We replaced the oven sensor probe. 

I thought it was the oven burner igniter causing the problem, but called a repairman to be sure. He said the igniter was good; it was the control board that needed to be replaced. Ordered a new control board and overlay (it comes in two parts) and a new oven sensor as the repairman suggested. Parts came when they said they would and I was able to install them myself. Replaced all parts connected to the oven. Figured it would be easier to replace all the parts related to the issue. Cheaper than buying a new stove. Now it’s new again. 

Replaced temperature probe. 

Replaced the control electrical piece and works great now.
