How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3963654 / 316490000 Oven Probe

Refrigerator failed after the new home warranty expired. Contacted Appliance PartsPros.com and found they had a good return policy. Therefore, I ordered the part, replaced the old PC board, and tested the unit. The refrigerator is still working a year later, and we avoided a several thousand-dollar replacement. Thank you! 

After receiving my part promptly, I replaced the oven temp sensor. 

New temperature sensor, old sensor did not test at the right ohms. 

The wife indicated she heard a pop sound when baking. I purchased a backing element and installed it in the oven. Tried the stove and the ERR came up again. This time I took my time and searched my stove model number and under common symptoms and solutions clicked on the "Little or no heat when baking" title under the diagrams of my range. I found that the oven probe was 34% of the time the cause of the problem and the baking element 28%. I ordered the oven probe after checking the resistance and replaced it. This time after turning the stove on it worked. 

Replaced the oven temperature probe. The hardest part of the task was finding the oven model number, then waiting patiently for the new probe to arrive. Pulled the oven away from the wall, unplugged power unscrewed the back panel, unplugged and replaced the probe, reassembled and retested. WORKED PERFECT! Thank you. 

We replaced the failed sensor probe with a new one. 

Ordered a new Oven Sensor Probe and replaced it. 

Bought a new Temp Sensor Probe. 

Turned off power to range, removed pack panel. Located temp probe. Removed old probe, installed new. Replaced the back panel, turned on the power. Then checked temperature levels with a temperature gauge. Working correctly. NOTE. Don’t be intimidated by the videos on the internet that say you must replace the couplings on the probe and stove. Not true if you're using a genuine part from AppliancePartsPros.com. If they say it will fit. It will fit. 

This company has always been fantastic. However, we are returning our part. We received a heating element two years ago from them and had the same good experience. This time we bought a temp probe. Same Quick delivery. We’ve opted to replace our appliance. As trouble shooting the issue this year and replacing several parts became one road block after the other. We didn’t want to have a repairman come out and charge us a few after we replaced the parts that’s half of a new unit so we just opted to forgo that part.
