How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3958752 / 154579101 Door Spring

Replaced the spring. 

Turned electrical off to dishwasher, removed covers from bottom of dishwasher. Removed electrical wire feeding dw. Slid dw out removed both springs and installed with two new springs. Slid dw back in location and did process in reverse. 

Family was complaining the dishwasher door suddenly became heavy. Once opened it would just fall all the way down. Realized it was likely the springs. The springs on each side of the door stretched and broke! Was able to quickly identify the part I needed based on model number and easily repair! 

Removed bottom panel, stuk arm all the way back and replaced spring 

Watched a few videos, saw what was the problem, found my part online. The parts arrived the next day. I was able to change the spring on the right without any problem, but the one on the left was more difficult. I needed to pull out the dishwasher to change that one. My husband was impressed. 

Decided to order all the door seals and replace the springs too. With the help of watching the excellent videos was able to replace the door gasket, splash shield kit, tub gasket and springs. So far so good 2 wash cycles and no leak, door is also correctly tensioned. 

Replaced spring 

Easy fix. Just install new 

Replaced door arms and springs. Cables were fine. All parts were delivered freaky fast! 

Ordered cable and spring and replaced
