How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2030967 / WB44K5009 Oven Broil Element

I removed the broiler element when it didn't heat, and checked for continuity. There was none. I checked for power for the element and found it to be good. I ordered a new element, plugged it in, and checked to see if it heated. It heated and the oven is now functioning properly. 

I replaced the Broil Element. 

We ordered the new element from this site. 

A simple replacement of the broiler unit by removing 2 small hex end screws and unplugging the old unit and plugging in the new unit. It took me10 minutes to do. 

Turned off the power to the oven. Removed the oven door. Unscrewed the element, and pulled it right out. Gave the top of the oven a good cleaning, and put the new element right back in. Replaced the oven door. Turned the power back on. Let the broiler heat up on low for about 20 minutes, to burn off the new smell. Good as new. I snapped a picture of the numbers and the oven and sent it to AppliancePartsPros.com. They found the right one I needed and it was here within 2 days. A friend of my husband's put it in for us, works great. I will shop here again if I need anything else, thank you. 

Flipped breaker. Removed failed burner and replaced with the new and flipped breaker. 

Reviewed available parts by model number of oven. Reviewed video for replacement. Video mentioned that a socket tool made it easy to remove back panel. Initially started removing ‘screws’ from panel, realized they were for screen on panel for fan, located the socket screws located on sides, partially hidden, found the correct socket and removed panel. Recalled suggestion to tie onto wires before removing old element. Did so, replacing old with new. Replacing panel with nut driver was tough as nuts would fall out of driver. Finally used Vaseline to hold nuts in until screws would start in. The rest was easy. Turned oven back on at the circuit panel and it worked. Thanks!
