How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2031021 / WB44X173 Oven Broil Element

Piece of cake. took out the old one and replace the new one in reverse order. 

Replaced elements 

Ordered part and replaced it. 

Replaced with new unit.Exact fit part received promptly.Person replacing needs to be familiar with danger of working with dangerous voltage and be sure power is off. 

Replaced element as shown in the video. The only issue was that the video shows press on connectors while my oven had connectors held together with 1/4-inch sheet metal screws. Fortunately, the replacement element was also set up for sheet metal screws. Unfortunately the heads of the sheet metal screws faced upwards toward the top of the oven, leaving no space to get a wrench in there to loosen them and they were too tight for pliers. Most of the repair time was in carefully twisting the connectors around so I could get the nut driver on the screws.But, other than the extra time fiddling with the connectors hoping not to break anything, the repair went very smoothly. I am pleased. 

I looked on line and found your web site, entered the oven model number and expected to see "no longer available". Instead I saw that there were many elements available. I ordered it on Saturday and it was at my front door on Tuesday (excellent service). I tried to remove the old element from the inside but the connecting leads were not long enough to get to the screws. Our son came and helped me remove the oven (wall mounted, too heavy to remove by one person), sat it on a portable table got to the back and replaced the element, put it back and it worked fine. 

I took out the old element. Ordered the replacement (on a Saturday) and still received it within a few days. The wires connected to the element were too short to pull them through to the inside of the oven, so I had to open the back of the stove to do this repair. The new element was a perfect fit, even though the oven is probably 20 years old. Easy repair. The trickiest part was probably to put the cover plates back on the rear of the stove without dropping one or two of the little screws. Took maybe 40 minutes to do the whole job. 

This was an easy repair ordered parts on Sunday pm by Tuesday afternoon they were here. The job was simply 4 screws and took about 10 minutes.I have used this company on numerous occasions and never have been disappointed please keep up the great service 

Replacement of both elements 

I ordered both top and bottom elements from you. The shipping was very fast. I took out the old elements and put in the new ones in less than one hour. They were a perfect fit do to the description and pictures you have on line.
