Mariah R Panama City , FL April 24, 2015 My fiancée broke the knob and stud off the timer i needed to replace timer and knob I first received the quality parts in less than 2 days. It took me 5 minutes to change out the timer and 2 of the minutes were finding where my fiancée put the Phillips head screwdriver. Unplug dryer first, remove top three screws from back panel. Pull old timer up and out, have new timer in hand and transfer one wire at a time. Once all wires are transferred, snap the new timer in its place. Replace your three screws, put knob on timer. Plug in dryer and test. Once completed, cleanup your mess. You know the lint and missing sox from your fiancée on the side and in back of the dryer. It was easy and I'm a women. Eric L Whittier , CA December 21, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Gas Dryer DWSR463GG5WW Dryer timer went out By using the schematics ordering the timer was very easy. My mistake was not ordering the knob and the spacer for the knob. I clicked on chat later in the evening even though I doubted anyone would come on. To my surprise I got an immediate response! They were able to cancel my first order and immediately take care of ordering the three parts through chat. Very easy and what should be done by other on line merchants. The parts came when promised and 10 minutes later my dryer was working again. Thanks for a well run organization. Ginger O Knoxville , TN April 17, 2015 Appliance: General Electric General Electric GTDP300EM1WS Clothes dryer timer shaft broken off First I went to Do It Yourself.com and placed a thread in the appliance section regarding my problem. They have group moderators who then review your question and give you an answer and plan of attack. I then went to your website and looked up the parts that I would need for repair, and I ordered them. Each part has a repair video listed and I watched each video. My parts came and I proceeded to repair per the instruction videos. While the repair in the video was not exactly the same (different colored wires, different screw types) it was very helpful to see the repair done in video. The helpful tips on what problems I might run into helped a bunch. The main problem I had was getting the screws out of the back panel to remove it for repair. Several were terribly stuck- I ended up bending the metal panel down with some screws still in tightly. Unhooked the old timer wires, connected wires to new timer. Seated timer into place. Closed back panel and put on new knob. All fixed! Read More... 5 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers
