How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2616850 / WD26X10013 Complete Ge Pump And Motor Assembly

Replaced pump/motor. 

Installed a new motor from Appliance Pros.com 

Received new unit and followed the video to complete the replacement. All went well and the problem was fixed. Great video. Part was easy to install. 

I watched the video that showed the basic method for the motor / pump replacement. Then I used the instruction sheet included with my parts which gave specific information for my motor / pump. Ordered complete pump assembly due to age and condition of old unit. Easily replaced unit with the excellent instructions for retrofitting this pump into the unit. Repair was quite easy: remove dishwasher, turn on side, remove old pump and install new one. The video by appliancepartspros was excellent and showed how each part of the repair needed to be performed. I am very pleased with the results. Although this dishwasher is from 1987, it works extremely well and looking over reviews of new dishwashers, the cost of a new one that works well was several times the cost of this part. 

I had to buy the complete motor/tank assembly because it was all connected and you could not just replace the part/area that was leaking without buying the whole assembly which included a new motor. 

Replaced pump and motor assembly. I considered replacing just the pump housing and rebuilding the motor assembly, but since my dishwasher is 15 years old, I thought it best to replace the entire unit in case something else was worn. AppliancePartsPros tutorial video was excellent! No surprises. I had a little trouble getting the seals not to leak, but that was due to under tightening the clamps. I didn't want to over tighten and accidentally break a part. 

Replaced the pump. The pump arrived on my doorstep in less than 24 hours. Also, the GE Pot scrubber is the VW Bug of dishwashers. This same pump goes in 30 or 40 years worth of dishwashers and several different models. I'm keeping this dishwasher forever! If you fix your own stuff regularly, you won't find the job difficult at all. I gave the job a 4 on the difficulty scale, only because of the reaction of friends when I told them I replaced the pump.
