Simply replaced the water line with original equipment replacement part, using two couplers to replace both lines coming from the water tank. The excellent videos provided showed how to perform the installation, which was extremely simple to follow. All told, the parts for the repair came at around $20, and took about 20 minutes to replace from start to finish. By doing it myself, I save probably $150-200 by not needing to schedule a repair man to come out (probably twice--once to diagnose, and once to install the parts). Word of caution--if you are repairing one section of water line (such as from the solenoid valve to the water tank), plan on also replacing the line from the water tank to the door. They are equally old and prone to leaks, and you are already in there to begin with. You will need two union connectors (but only one length of water line, since one kit is enough to do both lengths).
