Donald N Vienna , VA July 12, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GSD1410X66AA Door springs failed so it had to be latched up and lowered caefully Ordered the replacement cable/plates for both sides (only one had failed so far). Removed the toe plate. Hooked the two cables in place and hooked one spring between the plates with the cables slack (bypassing the idler pulleys). Then guided the cables over the pulleys. Then hooked the second spring between the plates. Replaced the toe plate. Greatest difficulty was regaining my feet, as I am recovering from a broken arm, and don't have full range of motion. My wife was present to hand me tools and to help me up. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

David G Jonesboro , GA February 16, 2015 Appliance: Model TAPPAN Dishwasher door would not stay up My door broke on my old 29 year old dishwasher. It would not stay in the up position. Since my dishwasher is 29 years old we decided to get a new dishwasher. After finding out that a cheap one was going to cost me around 400 dollars I remembered that I had always had good luck with you guys. So I took my door apart and found out that two cables had broken inside the door. I went online and in about 5 minutes I found the cables that had broken in my door. Two days later the cables arrived and my dishwasher was fixed for $20 instead of $400. Thanks guys. Read More...
