How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4334050 / WH08X10036 Door Boot Seal

We sat the Ipad on the dryer and my husband followed along with the video from this site. It was easy to understand and simple to complete. While the work consisted of taking the whole washing machine apart- it was never frustrating or overwhelming- thanks to the excellent tutorial. 

We are a British family living in Brazil. We have a large GE Washer that we bought in Miami 10 years ago and had it shipped in free of tax as part of our personal effects. It has been fault free except for the door seal problem caused by "Door Boot Seal Abuse". No chance of getting GE spares in Brazil - they just have these teensy weensy machines the size of a US Family Corn Flake box i. And it's rubbish quality made to fail after 2 or 3 years. This GE beast goes like a train and I was not about to junk it. My wife was in NYC engaging in some serious retail therapy so I got on the phone to the friendly folks at Appliancepartspros and explained I had a Brit credit card and a wife in a NYC hotel who could accept delivery of the part. It was there 24 hrs later!! You guys ROCK! Part was easy to install and machine happily working as I type this. 

I replaced the door seal for the leak. We had a small tear in the sealing surface that resulted in water dripping down the front of the machine (just below the door). I also replaced the detergent dispenser main box with diverter unit. This corrected excessive water being left inside the detergent dispenser at the end of each cycle. I highly recommend replacing the dispenser seal and gasket nozzle to be on the safe side. As these parts are subject to wear and fatigue over the life of the machine. They are cheap enough to bear no significant reason not to. These small pieces are often over looked when performing repairs. But when you need them, you'll be glad that you ordered them. 

Ordered the seal, boot clamp, and spring clamp - watched the video on the AppliancePartsPros.com website - everything was just like the video - took me a little longer to get the clamp's on 

I goggled my problem and AppliancePartsPro provided a couple of things it could be. I checked the Door Boot Seal and found 2 small rips. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPro and when it arrived i followed the video on their web site which showed how to replace the part. The video was extremely helpful. Without the video I would not been able to do the repair. 

I watched your video several times and determined that it is something that I could possibly do. I ordered the part and got very prompt and professional service in the delivery. I followed what the video repair person did step-by-step and accomplish the task. The video was very thorough and made the repair possible that I normally would not have tried. I did have a couple of issues when it came to put in the seal onto the washer housing, but then again it just took Little bit of elbow grease and everything turned out good. Thank you appliance parts pros for your service and help... It sure beat the cost of calling a repairman ????

Repair centers quoted me twice the price for the part and $200 for labor. We watched the video and it went great. 

We bought a new one and followed online videos to remove the old and install the new. Mostly easy, but more than the 30 minutes the online videos stated. The hardest part was tightening the wire spring clamp that keeps the boot on. But, we did it successfully and have washed many loads since!
