The Door Boot Seal is an OEM part for GE washing machines. This seal is positioned around the door opening of front-load washers, creating a watertight barrier that prevents water from leaking during wash cycles. It also helps to reduce noise and vibration, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

Over time, the door boot seal can deteriorate due to constant exposure to water, detergent, and the high temperatures of washing cycles. If the seal becomes damaged, it can lead to leaks, mold growth, and decreased washing performance.

Symptoms of a bad door boot seal include:

  • Water leaking from the front of the washer
  • Mold or mildew buildup on the seal
  • Unpleasant odors from the washer
  • Visible tears, cracks, or warping of the seal

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For the door boot to tub clamp order WH01X10277. For the door boot to front spring clamp order WH01X10279.

Hello Maritza, the possible causes are an unbalanced load, weak/work tub shocks, worn spin bearings, failing rear tub support/spider assembly. Other than the unbalanced load the washer would need to be taken apart to check further.

Rocky, It is not necessary to replace the clamps with the door boot and you would just use the original ones.

Terry, There would not be cushions or cradle that the tub will sit on. If it is the inner drum that seems to have dropped then it will most likely be a broken spider on the unit which will need replaced.

Terry, There are four suspension rods/shocks and two suspension springs that hold the tub up and center in the opening. You didn't mention any noises or vibration in the washer, but the information would indicate a possible problem in the rear tub bearing, allowing the tub to "wobble" in the spin cycle and "seems like drum may have fallen down some as the seal was cut by the drum edge". Make sure the washer is level in both directions, so the clothes tumble in the tub properly.

Roland, Just because of the staining the gasket would not need to be replaced. As long as the staining is not rubbing off to clothing.
