I was going to be charged $600 by GE's technician, so I had already decided to purchase a new machine, which would cost me around $800. AppliancePartsPros saved the day by providing accurate parts matching and step by step repair videos. Total repair cost ended up being $200 (+ my own work).
Tip: set aside screws in groups (by step) as you remove them, so you can put them back at the right places when putting the machine back together after replacing the seal. The video is great at showing how to make the repair, but does not show that level of detail (which screws go where).
