How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2059138 / WR2X7213 Door Stop

Ordered the door stop and cam riser. Job was easy thanks to the video on your web site adjacent to the part ordered. 

This is my parent's refrigerator but luckily my brother and I were both there when it happened. I found the manual and researched on the parts website to find the parts we needed. Dad, 88, wanted to call the appliance repairman but we convinced him to let us give it try. Two days later the parts arrived, my brother and sister-in-law fixed the door and Dad saved $100. He is happy and we thank you for the quick service! 

We have a GE side-by-side refrigerator freezer we purchased in January of 1991. It is still performing as well as new, even the ice maker. But the other day my wife called me to say she could not get the freezer door to close all of the ways. I checked and realized it had dropped and was not aligned with the cabinet opening. I lifted the door about 1/2" and it closed. So I researched the WEB and found out that the bottom door hinge had two cams that attempted to close the door through mating riser slopes, these had deteriorated. So I ordered the bottom hinge and the mating Cam Riser. I had to remove the freezer door in order to remove and replace these items. But, there was a multiple-wire electrical connector under the top hinge cover that needed to be disconnected, and the "water through the door" tubing came through the bottom hinge pin. The electrical was no problem. The water tubing was old and brittle, it crumbled as I worked. These parts are no longer available, although it is only 5/16" tubing. I wound up disconnecting the water valve circuit so there would never be water through that tubing again. The freezer door works fine, except now the refrigerator door will need the same repair soon. 

Replaced door hinge assembly, and doorstop. Did not really know what was entailed in fixing the problem. Simple and inexpensive to order the needed parts, and an easy fix to make once parts arrived. It is a simple job, but was very impressed with the how-to video, to bring great confidence in doing the project myself. It was actually easier to completely remove the frig door to gain easier access. Many thanks, guys...well done! 

Replaced broken cam riser. Ordered new part (plus suggested "shim" and "door stop"). While I did not need anything but the cam riser, appreciate the suggestion of potential additional parts needed. Had to request assistance as the old cam riser was secured with a pop rivet versus a screw. Building engineer drilled out the pop rivet and replaced with a screw and bolt successfully. 

We purchased the door stop and lower door hinge kit. It worked as planned Should have ordered one more piece that sits against the door stop but it worked ok. May not last as long not having the support against the door stop. Service was fast and easy. The rep was pleasant and helpful. I will def use this outlet again for other repairs. 

Cam riser and shim 

My nephew blocked the door to level, removing the door stop, putting in the cam riser and replacing the stop. Just needed the parts and someone to fix it.... thank you! 

Obtained the model and serial number of the refrigerater and looked the part up on your website. Ordered the part and replaced it when it arrived. 

Got on-line with the model number, looked at the prints of the fridge, ordered what I needed. Parts came super fast. Snapped one in and installed the other. Perfect fix it job and I am a female who does all the fixing around the house. :)
