How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3203248 / WR17X11459 Drive Cup

Water did come out of dispenser, it came out from beneath refrigerator when dispenser handle was fixed. Turned out to be a leak in th water tank hose. Replaced tank in under an hour. Still no water. Disconnected hose near door and determined water was making it to this point and that the line must be frozen. Ran hair dryer into dispenser chute for two minutes and water worked. Replaced plastic drive cup on ice tray and ice works. All good. 

I watched the video on replacement of the drive cup. Did what I saw on video and made my repair in no time at all. Easy, fix when you know what to do. 

We discovered the damage this way: we knew the general area of the problem and started watching the videos that are featured by the chosen parts, which helped us find all of the issues our ice dispenser had - more than we first thought. Ordering was easy although we did have one of the 3 parts we replaced that was backordered. Once we received all of our parts we watched one of the videos that involved disassembling and reassembling the whole auger assembly and showed us how to completely replace all of the parts we were replacing. And it works!

Searched youtube.com to see how complicated the repair would be and as a result I was connected with AppliancePartPros.com. The repair was very straight forward. There was not a step left out of the instructions. 

Watched the video tutorial to fix a broken helix and drive cup. Went off without a hitch and ice maker is working perfectly. Video made it very easy to fix. 

Purchased a new cup and installed it 

I ordered the damaged parts that arrived in an expeditious manner. I opened the video on your site and replaced all damaged parts of the auger. Took me a total of10 minutes to do the repair. The ice maker works perfectly now. 

First the ice maker bin overflowed with ice and somehow a piece of ice fell into the fan and broke one of the three fan blades, when I removed the ice bin it was over full and the drive cup for the auger was cracked and missing part of it. after I received the parts I had to empty the freezer and remove all the shelves, supports and rear panels of the freezer to replace the broken fan blade and reinstall everything.this took about 2 hours. then I took the ice bin apart to replace the rear drive cup on the auger. that was easy. also I replaced the freezer light bulbs.this job is not for the average person! I was a A/C/R Tech.for 45 years so I did not have to call a repairman. The Refrigerator was a GE side by side
